What do you think?

These are pictures of work by Francis Upritchard. She was born in New Zealand and now works in London. Her work comments on the classification of peoples according to collected ethnographic objects. I saw her work in Kate MacGarry gallery here in London and everything was set-up in such a way as to evoke a museum feel. Her work is very reminiscent of colonialism. I like how she brings together disparate objects to mock classification in museums. She encourages one to question cultural difference. I am interested in incorporating her work into my thesis.

Please Don't Forget

Please don't forget to experience Autumn. It will only be around a little longer before we have to wait a WHOLE nother year. Amidst lots of reading and paper writing I have had the chance to get out and about in London's parks and enjoy the weather. I am currently working on research for five different papers that will be due before the end of the semester. I will be thinking of home a lot more now that Thanksgiving is around the corner, but I have A LOT to be thankful for here, too. I wish you all a happy holiday...
